Okay, seriously, this is the most tangible piece of news so far. I think we can truly see this as a confirmation that there is in fact going to be a third
movie!!! There is no time frame as of yet but Vin says that David Twohy is currently working on the script. *does the happy dance*
From the babe's mouth: Vin Diesel addresses third "Chronicles of Riddick" movie SQUEE!!!

Somehow I don't think Karl would be happy to see someone else play him, considering everything he invested into this character (shaving his head, writing a biography of Vaako, stealing a script ). And thank you very much for the compliment on "Allegiance"! Glad you liked it.
I had a lot of fun writing that story.

Yeah, it'd be totally HOT to see Karl back as Vaako and to have some smoldering love scenes, whether it be with his "Mrs." or not, just give us
more of that "smolder", PLEASE!

but twohy could all too easily skip way ahead - like he did for 'chronicles' from 'pitch black' - having shed the necromongers altogether and
onto some completely new storyline...i won't allow myself to hope for more karl as vaako until he walks onto the set all tall and beautiful and badass and
the director yells: action!
(here's a thought: give vaako his own spin-off movie |

I just got this in my Karl Urban "Google" alert this morning. Here is Vin talking a little bit more about the Chronicles of Riddick 2. From how it
sounds, I can't see it NOT having Karl in it. I mean, at the end of Riddick, Riddick is now the leader of the Necromongers after he beat Vaako's
attempt at killing the Lord Master. And Vaako and all the other Necromongers bowed down to him.
How can Lord and Lady Vaako NOT be there? And Laurie, this article answers your question about "Pitch Black" being part of the series..... Vin Talking More Riddick 2

Yeah, Karl HAS to be in the next movie because some of it will take place in the Underverse so the Necromongers will definitely be there. I'm so
ridiculously excited about this! I can't even imagine what it might look like... Wow... Just wow....

I'm excited too! To see them start where they left off with Riddick in the chair and ruling this brand new race of Necromongers. I really wonder if
they're going to do that, and what they'll do next- how exciting!!

OMG! This is so awsome if everything goes through! I hope Karl does come back, it seemed that he and Vin had become buddies, so I'm sure Vin will at the
very least consider his return as Vacco... I hope.

i hate to be gloomy and doomy (it's a gloomy day here so maybe that's making me feel a bit pessimistic) but even if twohy decides to bring back the
necromongers for the next installment, there's no guarantee karl would choose to reprise his role as vaako; of all the cast, his career has progressed the
most since 'chronicles' and he's in a different position now than he was back then.
vin's career has an air of desperation about it now, having stalled in a big way, he's just not the hot new talent he once was; so unless the new 'fast and furious' does really well, vin isn't the draw card he used to be. i can't say i'd be shocked if karl chose not to take what could be deemed a backward step for him, now that he's trying to move away from his 'action' persona into more character work. that might be totally wrong and he might jump at the chance, but i would imagine the impact of his 'trek' performance and the doors it may open for him will dictate the direction he chooses to go in his career, and that might not include vaako (tho the big perv in me would dearly love to see more of the beautiful, badass lord, goodness knows!). |

Video: Vin Diesel and Dungeons and Dragons by Dunc Seriously! Check out this quote: youtube I mean, I was literally playing Dungeons and Dragons with Judi Dench and Karl Urban at nights after shooting. I will tell you that I was showing her Dungeons and Dragons books and showing her the different properties of Elementals. Call me crazy. He taught Dame Judi Dench to play D&D. Just goes to show… You never know. here BoxOfficeMojo email 'Fast and Furious' zoomed to the top of the April record book with an estimated $72.5 million over the weekend and out-muscled its predecessors by a wide margin... |

I don't know why Karl would choose not to play Vaako again. I mean, Riddick is still well know and I think people would go to the movies to watch it. And
people like Vaako. Even when I wasn't a Karl's fan (I mean, I barely noticed him), I loved Vaako a lot more then all the other characters. After Star
Trek a lot of people would watch a Riddick's sequence because of Karl (even though the great majority would go because of the story and etc).
Well, I hope that if they ask him, he accept. I liked almost all Karl's characters, but Vaako was one of my favorites. I wouldn't like to see another actor on this. |

I agree with Leah on this one and now more especially after how well Star Trek has been received. It's a difficult one really. I'd like to see him to
more serious and award type stuff like Out of the Blue because he has it in him but he seems to prefer physically challenging action movies which we all like
to see him in too. He seems just like a big boy at heart (as ah am an older wummin I feel I'm ok to say that
Personally I'd like to see him running around half naked as Thor with long blond hair (again) |

I just saw Riddick a couple of days ago. I scoured the measley little video store and found their only copy and jumped for joy. He was so wonderful in it;
I'm so glad his character didn't get killed off. It would be nice to see another Riddick with more Vaako-minus the wife of course. Then Vaako could
play the field a little; I'd be willing to be his love interest in the flick-I'd do it for free (hee hee)
