Writer JG Ballard, famous for his book Empire of the Sun about his childhood struggle to survive in a Japanese internment camp, died on Sunday aged 78 after a
long illness.

Portland, Oregon radio broadcaster, Les Sarnoff, died on Friday of melanoma cancer. He was 60 years old. He had been a broadcaster for 25 years on my favorite
FM radio station, KINK FM 102. He was such a laid-back, mellow guy, funny as hell and had great taste in music. He was also a huge animal lover and did much
charity work for the local animal shelters. He is survived by his wife and two dogs that were his "kids with four legs."
You will be missed so much, Les. Who's going to wake me up now every morning when the alarm goes off at 6:30?!

Oh, no. I used to love her in Maude and Golden Girls. Maude was such a funny show. They don't write 'em like that anymore. R.I.P. Bea.

Yeah, on a show I try to get up early enough to watch, CBS News Sunday Morning, they had a really cool interview they showed with her in 2002 that they'd
done. She was one of a kind and did some groundbreaking roles on TV for women in the 70's. Did you know that it was a guest starring role she had in
"All In the Family" that got her the show "Maude?" Producer Norman Lear saw her in that episode and told others "that woman and that
character is a show all by itself?' The rest is history.
R.I.P., Bea. You were one hell of a lady!

Dom DeLuise passed away last night in his sleep. He was 75!
I will always associate him
with Mel Brooks since he was in so many of Mel's movies and they seemed to work so well together.
Dom DeLuise passes R.I.P., Dom. You will be sorely missed!

It's not only sad that he died, but the circumstances surrounding his death are
heartbreaking, to say the least of it. I feel for all of his family and friends who loved him.
