Well, it is 2:36 am Sunday morning now, and this event happed at around 6:00 p.m. Saturday night, so I don't know if you would say last night or earlier
tonight.
Anyhoo, here is what happened.
I was in CVS (a drugstore chain here in the U.S. for those of you in other countries that have not heard of it) and I was standing in line to check out, I was second in line. This guy comes in and he walks up to the counter then backs up and starts walking back and forth. He has his hand in his pocket (he is wearing those low baggy shorts that guys wear) and I notice that it looks like he has something in his pocket. The first thing that came to my mind was that he may have a gun. That combined with the fact he was acting weird made me nervous so I got out of line and walked off behind an isle.
I could still see what was going on. This guy jumps over the counter, grabs a crate that is
behind there, and starts to clean off the shelves where the cigarettes are. The checkout girl was just standing there in shock. She said something to him and
he to her but I could not understand what was said. That man that was standing in line in front of me was just standing there in shock as well.
I could not believe I was standing there watching a robbery right in front of me.
I
couldn't move. You just stand there thinking to yourself "is this real?" There was nothing that checkout girl could have done, that guy was twice
her size. This guy takes the crate of stolen cigarettes and walks right out of the store. The checkout girl calls for help over the intercom. Two other ladies
come out of the back. One runs back and calls the police. The manager comes out and asks what happened. By this time a lot of customers where coming in and
they were trying to get everyone checked out. After I was checked out, I went up to the manager and told him I saw the whole thing and do I need to stay there
to tell the cops what happened. He told me I did not have to stay because they have the surveillance videos and that I could leave. Thank God!!!
Saturday night was definitely an interesting night.
